And when I say a lot, I mean \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI have boxes full of rocks because this is who I’ve always been: an obsessive rock hound.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhenever I get a new batch, I go through it piece by piece, sometimes spending hours sorting through hundreds of stones looking for the standouts: incredible color, unusual patterns, beautiful inclusions, flash, interesting fractures, or simply a shape that makes my artist brain go, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e“Ohhhh, I could make something with THAT.”\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOver the years, I’ve accumulated boxes of these hand-selected pieces. Far more than I could ever use myself. Individual stones are usually larger tumbles, traditional cabochons, faceted stones, or specimens. But makers know that sometimes the best piece in an entire bag is that weird little chip hiding at the bottom.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThat’s what I’m looking for.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThese aren’t necessarily traditional jewelry-grade stones. They’re \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emaker stones\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e: individually selected pieces with enough beauty, personality, or potential that I pulled them aside for my own work.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEach piece is cleaned and lightly polished with mineral oil to enhance its natural color and vibrancy, and you’ll be able to choose the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eexact stone\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e you’re purchasing.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMost will be approximately \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e$2–$5\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, with larger pieces and more expensive materials generally ranging from \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e$6–$10\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, depending on the material, size, weight, and quality. My goal isn’t to charge a fortune for a tiny rock. I’ve simply done the digging and sorting so you don’t have to buy an entire bag hoping to find that one special piece.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnd yes, some of them are tiny.
